The 80th anniversary of the MG TA is to be marked by a massive gathering of the pioneering classics at the Brooklands Museum’s annual MG Era Day, which takes place on 10 April.
The model was the first in a long line of T Series roadsters extending to TB, TC, TD and TF variants, with examples of each type expected to arrive in numbers. Dozens of cars will turn out at the Surrey venue, bolstered by a special display of early MGs from the MG Car Club’s Vintage Register, while a strong showing of later Fs and TFs from the MGS Register will mark the later model’s 21st anniversary.
Owners of other MGs are also well catered for, as the 55th year of one of the firm’s most adored models, the BMC-era Midget, will also be a cause for celebration.
In addition to static vehicle displays, organisers have planned a massive classic cavalcade, which is set to take to the Mercedes-Benz World track at 1:15pm, while the venue’s famous Test Hill will be open from 2:30pm for those brave enough to take it on.
Family tickets are available from £30 with a number of other attractions available at extra cost: the half-hour Concorde Experience isn’t to be missed.
