Organisers of the Coventry Motofest have issued an appeal to classic car owners to register their vehicles for this year’s event, which takes place on 4-5 June.
Display space is available for 500 bikes and scooters, plus 300 classic cars, with planners setting a target of 1500 vehicles to be registered ahead of the show.
“We have increased our display areas for 2016, giving us the opportunity to more than double the numbers we had at last year’s event,” said Matt Phillips, the show’s classics and display director. “It would be an amazing sight to have so many classic cars, bikes and scooters in the city at one time and in doing so provide visitors with the chance to get up close to real motoring heritage.
“A number of classic car clubs including the Triumph Dolomite Club, Coventry TR Register, and the Standard Motor Club have already signed up, along with Francis Barnett motorcycles, the Moto Guzzi Owners’ Club and the Blood Bikers Charity.”
But it isn’t just car clubs who are being asked to participate: “We would encourage individuals and other clubs to join them and help make the classic vehicle display at Coventry Motofest 2016 the best we have ever had.”
