Some of the biggest names in motorsport are set to star at the Classic & Sports Car stand at this year’s Goodwood Revival, where they will meet with fans and sign books dedicated to their on-track exploits.
Legendary Formula One racers Sir Stirling Moss and John Surtees will be joined by Le Mans superstar Derek Bell and sports car ace Brian Redman throughout the race weekend, which takes place between 9-11 September at the Chichester circuit.
Brian Redman kicks off proceedings from 2-2:30pm on Saturday to discuss ‘Brian Redman: Daring Drivers, Deadly Tracks’. Packed with photographs, Redman’s memoir is a vivid account of his varied racing exploits, with special focus on the period 1968-73, when he won major sports car races in GT40s, Porsche 908s and 917s and Ferrari 312PBs. Rodman will return to the stand at 11am on Sunday.
Next in the hot seat is Le Mans legend Derek Bell, who will be on the stand at 3pm on Saturday and 2pm on Sunday to discuss ‘Derek Bell: My Racing Life’. The five-times Le Mans-winner and three-times Daytona-winner takes you through the details of his life racing around the world, from his early years leading to Formula One and into endurance racing.
Sir Stirling Moss is scheduled to begin his book signing at 4:30pm on Saturday. His very personal book ‘Stirling Moss: My Racing Life’ guides the reader through his motor racing career and is packed with fascinating, insightful and often amusing commentary, as well as an unparalleled collection of more than 300 photographs – many of which will be unfamiliar to even his more ardent fans.
The only man to have won drivers championships on both two wheels and four – John Surtees – will be on hand at 10:30am on Sunday to talk about his award-winning book ‘John Surtees: My Incredible Life on Two and Four Wheels’. Featuring more than 300 photographs from Surtees’ personal collection and the world’s finest motorsport picture libraries, the tome is a feast for the eyes and offers a rare insight into the ace’s formative racing years.
