An immaculately restored Ford Capri 2.8i has won the top prize at this year’s CodeClean Concours, which was held at the Footman James Classic Car Show Manchester on 17-18 September at EventCity.
Gideon Mayer’s incredible Capri wowed show goers throughout the weekend with its flawless paintwork and undercarriage. It beat a strong field to the top gong, including a Ferrari 308GTS with just 6000 miles on the clock, a Pontiac GTO and a Jaguar E-type.
The Capri was joined by a stellar collection of classics displayed by nearly 90 clubs, with The Heinkel Trojan Club being awarded Club of the Show for its charming stand and for its interaction with visitors.
Meanwhile, the much-coveted Car of the Show award was given to Gregory Jackson and his Ford V8-Pilot.
“The show was a great success and we were thrilled by the quality of so many of the cars and stands," said organiser Andy Rouse. "I haven’t gone through and counted ‘every head’ yet (I’ve literally just got back from the venue), but my early estimation is for a total attendance in the region of 11,000. I would like to thank every show visitor, every club, company, trader, private entry car and our feature partners for all their efforts. We hope to see everyone (and many more too) back at EventCity next year on Sept 16th and 17th.”
