A Lamborghini Miura formerly owned by rock legend Rod Stewart is poised to become one of the star lots at Coys’ Classic & Sports Car Show sale, which takes place on 29 October at Alexandra Palace.
The 1971 P400S was delivered new to Rod Stewart via London-based Lamborghini Concessionaires and was specified in right-hand-drive with factory-fitted air conditioning and seatbelts, while the history file includes a photograph of Stewart’s then girlfriend Dee Harrington.
After passing through the hands of a number of owners, the Miura was bought by the vendor, who commissioned a series of upgrades to take the car to SV specification. The modifications included changes to the front and rear clam shell, suspension upgrades and new rear lights.
More recently, the Lamborghini was restored by marque specialist Colin Clarke Engineering, who restored the suspension, steering and brake systems to concours standard, while the bodywork was refinished in its factory hue of Blue Notte. The SV conversion and restoration cost approximately £100,000, making its £800-900,000 estimate seem like tempting value.
