Riley specialist opens doors to new workshop

| 21 Oct 2016

Blue Diamond Riley Services opened its new workshop and parts centre in fine style, bringing together the largest gathering of Imps since the model’s 50th anniversary celebrations in 1984.

The firm’s new Bicester Heritage home played host to no fewer than 13 Imps during the venue’s most recent Sunday Scramble, as well as three Sprites, an MPH and a handful of other Rileys.

The new workshop aims to recreate the look and feel of the original Riley and MG works, while incorporating modern technology and working practices. Split into three distinct parts: a small machine shop, a workshop and service facility and a retail parts showroom, the specialist will carry out basically servicing and mechanical work. Larger scale restorations are set to take place at the firm’s Somerset facility.

The building will also house parts for pre-war and early MGs, which will be operated by a new company ‘The MG Automobile Company’, and is expected to be fully operational within a matter of weeks.
