A 1971 Lamborghini Miura originally owned by music legend Rod Stewart has sold at auction for £909,000 at Coy’s first Classic & Sports Car Show sale at Alexandra Palace.
The P400S, which had been the subject of a £100,000 restoration and upgrade to SV specification, became the most valuable car to sell at the auction.
The Miura was followed closely by a 1964 Aston Martin DB5, which sold for £450,000. The car was largely original, with the exception of a colour change from Sierra Blue to California Sage Green, in keeping with its DB4GT Zagato sister car ‘2 VEV’. The car had spent 52 years with its original owner.
A 1974 Ferrari 246GT confirmed continuing interest in the model after smashing its pre-sale upper estimate of £325,000 to eventually sell for £371,000. The fine looking Dino was fully rebuilt in the 1990s and represented a rare opportunity to secure one of just 498 right-hand-drive examples.
One of the headline lots – the first registered Range Rover – fetched £80,000*.
