A brand-new concours d’elegance has been announced, which is set to take place in the capital on 8-9 June. The City Concours will set up stall on the lawn of the Royal Honourable Artillery Headquarters, near to the Barbican, and will feature a dazzling array of historic vehicles including one of the world’s most original Jaguar D-types.
More than 80 entrants are expected, split over eight classes ranging from The Swinging Sixties through to Modern Bespoke. The Legends of Le Mans category will include the incredible Ecurie Ecosse D-type ‘RSF 303’ which finished second at Le Mans in 1957, the year in which five Jaguar D-types locked out the top four and sixth places. The car has never been restored, bearing all the battle scars accumulated during its fascinating racing career.
Also confirmed to attend is one of seven Touring Superleggera Disco Volante Spyders. Inspired by the Disco Volante of the 1950s, the Alfa Romeo 8C-powered beauty will challenge for honours in the Modern Bespoke class.
