Recently revived British sports car manufacturer TVR has announced plans to reveal its brand-new model to the public at this year’s Goodwood Revival, which takes place from 8-10 September.
The new car – of which just 500 examples will be built – is set to take centre stage in the Earls Court Motor Show display, and will feature alongside a number of the marque’s most significant models in celebration of the firm’s 70th anniversary.
The new car has been created in conjunction with Gordon Murray Design and is expected to weigh around 1200kg, promising a 0-60mph sprint time of less than four seconds and a top speed in excess of 200mph thanks to a five-litre Cosworth-developed V8. The launch edition will cost less than £90,000.
“We are incredibly excited to be unveiling the new car at the Goodwood Revival,” said TVR Chairman Les Edgar. “It’s the first time a global launch of a new car has occurred at the event, and it seems an entirely appropriate place for us to do it, with the marque’s motorsport heritage and an enthusiastic audience of dedicated car fans – and in our 70th anniversary year. After a series of secret private viewings organised for the benefit of existing customers for the new car, we know that we have a surefire hit on our hands, and very much look forward to seeing the public reaction to it in September.”
