Organisers of the Salon Privé Concours d’Elegance have dedicated an entire day of the event to Ferrari, celebrating the Maranello firm’s 70th anniversary with a stellar lineup of classic Ferraris.
The Concours Masters ‘Tribute to 70 Years of Ferrari’ celebration will gather 70 world-class examples of the marque at Blenheim Palace on 2 September, with a number of high-profile entrants already confirmed.
Top of the list is the oldest surviving 1949 Ferrari Tipo 166 Inter Coupé Touring, just the fourth of 11 166 Inters to be bodied by Touring and the eighth road car to be built by Ferrari. The UK-based car has competed in no fewer than four Mille Miglias throughout its life.
More modern models won’t be forgotten either, with supercar fans set to be treated to a close up look at UK-supplied 2017 Ferrari LaFerrari Aperta.
“Considering Enzo Ferrari gave me my first professional drive, Formula One race, and first Le Mans, I’m obviously very excited to celebrate 70 years of Ferrari,” said five-times Le Mans winner and concours judge Derek Bell. “I’ve been judging cars at Salon Privé for 10 years now and the move to the new home of Blenheim Palace is without doubt one of the most significant enhancements in its time. However, the new Concours Masters represents another milestone turning point for Salon Privé and I’m very excited to be heading up the judging team.”
