An exhibition dedicated to McLaren’s most memorable sporting successes will be hosted at the Louwman Museum from 7 July-27 August.
The display will celebrated McLaren’s victories in Formula One, Can-Am, and at Indianapolis and Le Mans. In total, 16 historic McLarens ranging from the most modern, up-to-date models to those dating back to 1971 will be put on show.
The team’s rich history began in 1963, with its first Formula One racing coming three years later. By 1968 Bruce McLaren’s team had captured its first Grand Prix victory, since when it has added 182 Grand Prix wins and 20 world championship trophies to its cabinet.
Among the cars on display will be those campaigned by racing luminaries such as Ayrton Senna, Mika Hakkinen and Lewis Hamilton, as well as the McLaren driven by Can-Am winner Peter Revson.
In addition to the competition cars, a number of the firm’s most recent roadgoing models will also be on show.
The exhibition has been arranged in collaboration with the Mercedes-Benz Museum in Stuttgart, the BMW Museum, McLaren Automotive, and a number of private collectors.
