A 1972 Ferrari 365GTB/4 Daytona once owned by legendary singer, pianist and composer Sir Elton John is set to be one of the main draws at Silverstone Auctions’ upcoming sale. It is expected to fetch between £525,000 and £575,000 when it crosses the block on 29-30 July.
The car is one of just 158 right-hand-drive examples and was delivered new through Marenello Concessionaires. By 1973 the Ferrari had be bought by musician and renowned Prancing Horse enthusiast Elton John, who kept the car until 1975.
The 365GTB/4 then past through the hands of a number of Ferrari Owners’ Club members, the last of which held onto the car for 16 years, maintaining it regardless of cost.
It is described as being presented in excellent order, with exceptional panel fit and a deep shine to its Rosso Chiaro paintwork. The interior has been trimmed in factory specification Connolly hide complete with the correct Ferrari-supplied punched, holed inserts, while the car also benefits from optional factory fitted air conditioning making it perfect for long-distance touring.
