The only Mk2 Ford Capri Uren Stampede ever made will go under the hammer at The Classic & Sports Car Show in association with Flywheel this month – and it's just one of nearly 100 fascinating lots.
The Capri is one of the undoubted stars of Brightwells' Bicester Classic & Vintage Cars and Motorcycles auction, which takes place at The C&SC Show on Sunday 24 June.
One of just eight extensively modified and tuned by Jeff Uren's Race Proved Performance and Equipment Ltd, it is thought to be the only one based on a Mk2 chassis.
What's more, in addition to Uren's upgrades – which included a Mustang Boss V8 engine – it also enjoyed an eye-catching paint job, which still adorns the car today.
It will be joined by dozens of other interesting vehicles, among them a 1935 Riley Amilcar Special, a 1986 AC 3000ME with a mere 4400 miles on the clock and a 1949 Series 1 Land-Rover. There are also a couple of car transporters – one a BMC model styled by Pininfarina – and even a speedboat fitted with a Coventry Climax engine.
