Yes, this really is Jim Clark's 1962 Lotus Elite Super 95 and, yes, you read that right, it is coming to auction.
It's been confirmed as a lot in RM Sotheby's London sale at Battersea Evolution on 5 September and is sure to attract serious attention – especially as this year marks the 50th anniversary of Clark's tragic death.
So, how much might it go for? It's estimated that it will achieve between £150,000 and £200,000.
This Elite was given to Clark in February 1962, in lieu of payment for his services as a works driver for Team Lotus.
It still carries its original numberplate, HSH 200, and will be sold with its original logbook which shows it was consigned to Clarksport Ltd (the two-time F1 champion's trading name), and it is signed by him.
The car still has its original chassis plate and Bristol Aircraft body plate, plus the original engine matches the logbook.
