Jason Plato and Gabriele Tarquini are among the stand-out names on a star-studded list of touring car heroes who will race at the Goodwood Revival next month.
The pair are among six British Touring Car Champions who will head to the Sussex circuit on 7-9 September, in the 60th anniversary year for the UK’s premier national race series.
Plato, who has won a record 96 BTCC races, will compete in the RAC TT Celebration, sharing a Chevrolet Corvette Stingray with long-time Revival partner, Craig Davies.
Ex-Formula 1 racer Tarquini, who is best known in the UK for winning the BTCC in 1994 in a factory Alfa Romeo 155, will line up in the St Mary’s Trophy for 1960s saloons. The Italian is still a force in international touring car racing and is currently leading the FIA World Touring Car Cup in a Hyundai i30 N TCR – at the ripe age of 56.
Goodwood claims its line-up of tin-top stars share more than 500 professional wins across touring car series all round the world. But it is familiar names from both the past and present BTCC that dominate the roster.
