Classic & Sports Car – Hot BMWs headline CCA's September sale

Love quick BMWs? You won't want to miss Classic Car Auctions' September sale.

That's because a grand total of 18 BMWs are due to go under the hammer at the Warwickshire Event Centre on 15 September, including some eye-catching lots, such as this 1983 E28.

But it's more than that, it is an Alpina B9 3.5 that was originally supplied to Germany but has spent most of its life in Japan.

It came to the UK last year, with 82,000 miles on the clock, before being recommissioned.

Dark blue with its original and very period brown velour interior, it also wears classic Alpina stripes and has a leather Momo steering wheel – and a pre-sale estimate of £25,000-£30,000.

How about this 70,000-mile E31 850CSI?

Or double the cylinder count with this E31 850CSI.

This 1996 example is one of 160 right-hand-drive UK cars, with a 375bhp 5.6-litre V12 under the bonnet.

Its current owner has had it for 17 years, it's done 70,000 miles and any prospective buyer will be reassured to hear that its BMW lifetime warranty is still valid. Its pre-sale estimate is £40,000-£50,000.

“BMW has always been a signifier of reliable, ingenious, quality German engineering,” said Richard Greenhalgh, classic car specialist at CCA.

“The performance and refinement in cars from BMW is truly unmatched by any other automaker. BMWs are some of the most sought-after cars currently and values are matching that desire.

"When we offer a BMW for auction we can be sure they are a cut above the rest. The particular cars on offer at the September sale are truly some of the best to come out of the Bavarian Motor Works.”

Other BMWs in next month's sale include a 1982 E21 320 Baur Cabriolet, a 1999 E36 M3 GT Evolution Individual, a 1999 Z3M Coupé, a 2000 E46 M3 AC Schnitzer and a 2002 Alpina B3S 3.4.
