A suitably fun idea has been revealed as part of next year’s Mini's 60th-anniversary celebrations, in the form of a Mini mosaic – and you can be part of it.
Yes, you read that right. On 3 August at the British Motor Museum in Gaydon, Warwickshire, event organiser Brian Sankey hopes to assemble 600 Minis spelling ‘Mini 60’, to establish a new Guinness world record.
Of course, that’s going to need a lot of owners coming along and taking part. Fancy it? Read on.
Here’s the list of eligible models:
- Classic Mini (produced between 1959 and 2000)
- Mini Clubman
- Mini Clubman Estate
- Mini Countryman
- Mini Marcos
- Mini Moke
- Mini Pick Up
- Mini Scamp
- Mini Van
- Mini Wild Goose
- Riley Elf
- Wolseley Hornet
And there’s more. Not only will you get to join in on a world record attempt, potentially scribbling your name on the pages of motoring history, but the event takes place the day before the National Metro & Mini Show, also at the British Motor Museum.
All of which means that you can look forward to a full weekend marking the Mini’s six decades on the road since ‘621 AOK’ rolled off the production line in 1959.
