The first D-type to roll off the Jaguar production line is set to star at this summer’s Concours of Elegance at Hampton Court Palace, where it will form an impressive display as one of around 50 models on show from the great British marque.
A matching-numbers car, chassis XKD 509 is considered to be one of the most original Jaguar D-types.
And that black body? It’s a ’70s respray covering the matte dark blue on white racing livery in which it achieved podium finishes and wins.
Joining the D-type will be the 15th E-type fhc – and it has a tale to tell, too.
