A rare 1910 ALFA 24 HP will take centre stage at the Automotoretrò show in Turin, as parent company FCA celebrates Alfa Romeo’s 110th birthday.
And, yes, that is ALFA, rather than Alfa Romeo: the 24 HP was the first model built by the Milanese brand, back when it was still known as Anonima Lombarda Fabbrica Automobili and before a certain Mr Nicola Romeo took over.
The 24 HP has rear drum brakes, hand and pedal controls and an inline four-cylinder engine, plus torpedo bodywork by Ercole Castagna.
And it’s one of two historic Alfas which will star at the 38th Automotoretrò and its Automotoracing sister show from 30 January to 2 February.
The other Alfa at the Turin show will be the 1928 6C-1500 SS which won last year’s Mille Miglia – and which also claimed victory on the 2005 and 2007 re-enactments of the race. That’s particularly apt, given that a works example of the same model won the event’s second running, in April 1928.
From a different era and corner of the FCA family, you’ll also be able to see the Fiat Panda 30 that will be in Turin as the model hits 40.
