The world of rallying is coming to the Goodwood Members’ Meeting for the first time this year.
Come the Saturday evening of the 78th Members’ Meeting, on 28-29 March, around 25 cars will compete against the clock on a rally sprint.
Bringing cars and stars from across the generations together in a head-to-head contest, it should be quite a spectacle.
The sealed-surface sprint course will see the contenders pass through the narrow tunnel and on a route that takes them between Madgwick and Lavant corners, round the famous Woodcote chicane and down the pitlane.
Classic rally cars from the ’70s up until the early ’00s are set to strut their stuff. Although the full line-up is yet to be confirmed, think Lancia Stratos, Audi quattro, MG Metro 6R4, Ford Escort RS1800, Peugeot 205 T16, Integrale, Sierra Cosworth, Toyota Celica, Subaru Impreza and more.
One confirmed attendee is five-time British rally champion Jimmy McRae, who will be driving his Group 4 Vauxhall Chevette HSR (pictured at the top of this page).
