Classic & Sports Car – Goodwood Members’ Meeting postponed to 2021

There will be no Goodwood Members’ Meeting in 2020, organisers at the West Sussex circuit have announced. The race meeting will now be held on the weekend of 10-11 April 2021.

The current schedule of races will remain, including a two-heat Gerry Marshall Trophy of up to 60 tin-tops, as well as the debut of the rally sprint.

Lotus 72 and Tom Walkinshaw Racing demonstrations had also been announced ahead of this year’s edition.

Plans for Goodwood’s other two major events, the Festival of Speed and Revival, will be announced in due course. A range of options are being considered, a statement said.

Tin-tops of the Gerry Marshall Trophy should still star at the 78th Members’ Meeting

The 78th Members’ Meeting was originally scheduled for 28-29 March, but the event was postponed, due to the coronavirus pandemic, less than a fortnight in advance, with hopes it could be rearranged for later in the year.

Ongoing social distancing measures will detract from what makes the event so special, Goodwood says.

Tickets will remain valid, but those unable to attend should contact the ticket office.

“We were very sad to postpone the 78th Members’ Meeting in March this year,” said the Duke of Richmond, “but we’re confident that it was the right thing to do to protect our visitors, competitors and staff.

“The 78th Members’ Meeting will be our best yet, and we are already working to see how we can add to the spectacular racing we had planned.”
