Concours Virtual is a brand-new, online-only contest that’s set to fill the void left by the cancellation of concours events the world over, due to the coronavirus pandemic, while raising money for Unicef.
Running from 30 June until 9 August, 120 cars in 15 classes will be judged by more than 40 experts, who’ll have the tough task of selecting a Best in Show.
There’s also a People’s Choice Award and class favourites, decided by public vote.
The event will take place on social media and at concoursvirtual.com, and owners wishing to submit their cars should visit the website and register by 15 June.
There will be a class in tribute to the late Sir Stirling Moss, plus others including one dedicated to ’70s concept cars, a Formula One category and ‘Cars of the Art Deco period’.
Among the confirmed judges are Pink Floyd drummer Nick Mason, Wayne Carini, of the Discovery Channel’s Chasing Classic Cars, and the Duke of Richmond, who said: “I am delighted to be involved in the Concours Virtual. It’s a difficult time for events in the classic car world and this is a creative response and at the same time supports the great work of Unicef.”
