Pushing a classic car around Bicester Heritage’s track may seem more of a chore than a challenge, but this is exactly what the REVS team is about to undertake.
It’s in aid of Mission Motorsport whose annual Race of Remembrance has been cancelled because of COVID-19.
Instead, the forces’ motorsport charity is encouraging people to undertake their own fundraising #YourRoR initiatives on 6-8 November.
The REVS team will be led by Rev Adam Gompertz who spearheaded the REVS Limiter, REVS Restored and REVS Refuelled and Ready virtual car shows earlier this year to help enthusiasts through the pandemic, accompanied by TV’s Jimmy de Ville, automotive journalists Charlotte Vowden and Alex Goy, and motoring PR Matt Sanger. The aim is to complete as many laps of the circuit as possible within three hours.
As if doing a Remembrance Day challenge at the former RAF base wasn’t evocative enough, the team will be pushing Vowden’s MGA, ‘Frisky’, whose last owner was her grandfather who served with the RAF during WW2.
