The full race schedule has been confirmed for the Goodwood Revival 2021 on 17-19 September, and with old favourites returning, new names and a one-off race, once again it looks like it will be a mouth-watering weekend of classic motorsport.

And it all kicks off with the hour-long, two-driver Stirling Moss Memorial Trophy on the Friday.

Previously known as the Kinrara Trophy and rechristened following Sir Stirling Moss’ passing in 2020, early-’60s GTs including Jaguar E-types, Aston Martin DB4GTs and AC Cobras will go wheel-to-wheel and open the meeting in style.

Another renamed race gets day two under way, the Goodwood Trophy becoming the Festival of Britain Trophy for 2021 to mark 70 years since the original Festival of Britain, held on South Bank in London. Grand Prix and voiturette cars of the ’30s and ’40s from marques such as ERA, Talbot and Maserati will battle for glory.

This will be followed by 2021’s first ’bike race, the Barry Sheene Memorial Trophy, the 25-minute, two-rider contest on ’60s machines a great chance to see some of the sport’s superstars in action.

Fifties saloons will be next as part one of the popular St Mary’s Trophy takes to the track, the star-studded cast of drivers first behind the wheel – and it’s sure to be a thrilling 25 minutes, if previous years are anything to go by.

Hot on its heels will be the meeting’s fastest and loudest race, the sports prototypes of the Whitsun Trophy competing at the Goodwood Revival for the 20th time.

Next is a one-off race for the 2021 Revival. The 45-minute, two-driver John Whitmore Trophy celebrates the 60th anniversary of the Mini Cooper and will welcome a 30-car grid for what’s sure to be an intense contest.

Saturday afternoon’s glamorous, 25-minute Sussex Trophy will close the day’s competitive action, evoking Goodwood’s Tourist Trophy races of years gone by and featuring D-types, Listers, Ferraris and the like.

Then front-engined Formula Juniors start Sunday’s proceedings with the Chichester Cup, followed by the second part of the Barry Sheene Memorial Trophy with its Le Mans-style start.

Expect Maserati 250Fs, Ferrari 246s, Lotus 16s and more in the Richmond Trophy which lines up next, then it’s time to wind back the years for the 25-minute, two-driver Brooklands Trophy for sports cars of the ’20s and ’30s.

Arguably the Goodwood Revival’s most prestigious race, the one-hour, two-driver, star-studded Royal Automobile Club TT Celebration for some of the greatest closed-cockpit GT cars then hits the track, followed by the concluding part of the St Mary’s Trophy where the cars’ owners take the limelight before an aggregate result is calculated.

The weekend’s penultimate race is the Glover Trophy for 1.5-litre Grand Prix cars of 1961-’65 – and it will be the race’s 40th running.

The meeting will close with the Freddie March Memorial Trophy, a 25-minute contest recalling Goodwood’s Nine Hour races in 1952, 1953 and 1955, starring endurance classics by Maserati, Jaguar, Ferrari, Aston Martin and more.
