Past Best in Show cars will return to Concours of Elegance, when it celebrates its 10th anniversary on 2-4 September 2022.

The event will take place at Hampton Court Palace, in west London, and will welcome almost 1000 vehicles over the three days.

The class of previous winners will join a display of more than 70 cars, including Prince Charles’ Aston Martin DB6 Volante, all vying for 2022’s coveted Best in Show award.

The 1930 Bentley Speed Six ‘Blue Train’ Coupé is powered by a 6½-litre engine

The 1930 Bentley Speed Six ‘Blue Train’ Coupé will be hoping to emulate its success at the event’s 2013 edition.

This car wears impressive Gurney Nutting-designed coupé coachwork and is powered by a 6½-litre, Le Mans-spec engine.

The Bentley earned its nickname after Woolf Barnato – a former chairman of the company – declared at a party that he could beat a train from Cannes to Calais in his Speed Six Coupé.

He backed up his claim by not only beating the train to Calais, but also making the journey across the channel and back to London before the train had pulled into the station.

The Hispano-Suiza Dubonnet Xenia won Best in Show in 2016

Another returning winner will be the one-off 1938 Hispano-Suiza Dubonnet Xenia that was crowned Best in Show at the 2016 Concours of Elegance.

The idea for the Art Deco-styled car came from French racing driver and inventor, André Dubonnet.

After deciding on an H6 Hispano-Suiza engine and enlisting the help of designer, Jean Andreau, and coachbuilder, Jacques Saoutchik, the Dubonnet Xenia’s streamlined body began to take shape.

The finished car is a stunning piece of design and showcases a number of Dubonnet’s automotive inventions.

The Porsche 917 KH conquered Le Mans in the hands of Hans Herrmann and Richard Attwood

Also returning to try and reclaim top honours is this Le Mans-winning 1969 Porsche 917 KH.

The famous car was piloted to victory at La Sarthe in 1970 by Hans Herrmann and Richard Attwood.

Finished in the instantly recognisable red-and-white Salzburg livery and with its thunderous 12-cylinder engine, the 917 is sure to turn just as many heads upon its return to Concours of Elegance as it did roaring down the Mulsanne Straight in 1970.
