A special display has been confirmed for next weekend’s Heveningham Concours to celebrate the centenary of the Le Mans 24-hour race.
The line-up includes a Porsche 956 piloted by Ayrton Senna, a Mercedes-Benz CLK LM GT1 and an original Bentley 4½ Litre.
These will form part of the 50-car concours at Heveningham Hall, Suffolk, on 8-9 July.
The 1983 Porsche 956 Group C car heading to Heveningham Concours was raced by three-time Formula One drivers’ champion Ayrton Senna in the 1984 Nürburgring 1000km.
One of 12 956s delivered to customer teams in 1983, this example, finished in yellow, white and black, was campaigned by one of the most successful privateers, Reinhold Joest.
The 956 and its 962 sibling became synonymous with the 24-hour enduro, these models winning the race seven times.
