One of only 44 right-hand-drive Ferrari 330 GT 2+2 Series 1s is to be offered for auction next month at Silverstone Auctions' Race Retro.
The sleek and powerful 330 GT 2+2 was the fastest road-going Ferrari when it launched in 1964, with a 0-100kmh time of just 6.3 seconds, and this well-preserved and restored model is expected to fetch between £160,000 and £190,000 when it goes on sale on 24-25 February.
Styled by Pininfarina, the 330 GT 2+2 shared some characteristics with the earlier 330 and 250 2+2 GTE, but sported a sharper nose and tail, wider grille and that idiosyncratic four-headlight arrangement; power came courtesy of a 300bhp V12 engine.
The model on sale, chassis number #6875, comes in its original Grigio Argento paint and has been sympathetically restored both by the vendor, who has owned it for 10 years, and its previous owners.
Among the work carried out on it, #6875 has had a full respray, cylinder head and gearbox rebuild, plus a full bodywork overhaul which included replacement sills and floor panels.
Adam Rutter, classic car specialist at Silverstone Auctions, said, “We expect bidding to be strong as this exquisite model is offered with a comprehensive history and is very distinctive with its quad headlights, truly evocative of 1960s fashion.
