FERRARI DINO 246 GT – 1972 (1972)

FERRARI DINO 246 GT – 1972
COD. RDS00038
The Dino 246 was produced as an evolution of the previous 206 from which it differed in some respects, such as the engine, increased to 2.4L compared to the previous 2.0L and the bodywork, first in aluminum and then in sheet metal. The bodywork was conceived by the Pininfarina designer Aldo Brovarone and the engine was derived from the latest sports engine designed by Enzo Ferrari's son, Alfredo called (Dino), who died prematurely in 1956.
Hence the name Dino that the Drake named after him.
It is a 65 ° transverse V6, the first engine of this type mounted on a vehicle from the Maranello house which until then had always preferred 12-cylinder engines. For this reason it was considered a sort of "small" Ferrari, but its performance and road behavior were comparable to models with more divided engines, and the public decreed its success with a production of 2487 units. The Ferrari Dino became famous over time, thanks to its unmistakable and timeless lines; which today make it a particularly sought after car by collectors.
