1962 3.8 manual overdrive Jaguar Mark 2 (1962)

This fantastic barn-find 3.8 Mark 2 was apparently used in the 1989 La Carrera Panamericana coast to coast race in Mexico. Originally registered here in the UK, the car retains its original Coventry registration plate 1051 WK and now has a fresh UK V5, JDHT Heritage Certificate and Coventry Transport Museum Certificate of Authenticity.
We have inspected this car and the written report is available to the buyer. The engine has been started and exhibited good oil pressure and cylinder compressions. The underside is very original and indeed, one of the least molested and original Mark 2’s we have come across. Currently still fitted with a competition fuel tank and role cage this car would make a terrific basis for conversion to a very usable road car or indeed a return to competition.
Under the dust and cobwebs she is still in her original cream livery, much of which appears to be original paint which we feel would clean and polish very well. Indeed this is a very complete and possibly structurally original car.
The car appears to retain its original cylinder block and is mechanically virtually complete. For anyone looking for a relatively easy 3.8 project with some interesting history and solid underpinnings, this could be a great opportunity.
