Jaguar XK150 Long term ownership, drivers condition, original leather! (1957)

This is a beautiful Jaguar XK150 Fixed Head Coupé (FHC) with a canvas sliding roof and a beautiful condition. The Jaguar XK150 was so much more than just a facelift of the XK140. The XK150 was a car that was much more developed and much more modern to drive. These types of cars still come from the time when a few years could already bring a huge difference in technical developments. It was also the time when Jaguar was an absolute world power and delivered quality that they have simply not been able to match since.
This car was delivered new in Belgium in 1957 and has already been restored with a great sense of originality. The restoration was some time ago and it means that the car is still in good condition but has a huge amount of character that a modern car can never offer you.
During the restoration the car was nut & bolt restored and that is also the main reason that the car is still in such good condition. The body is very sleek. The sheet metal is nice and thin and the paint is also in good condition, apart from some light traces of use. The canvas roof also fits nicely everywhere and the chrome wire wheels and bumpers also look beautiful. It is a joy to look at this Jaguar and walking towards it already gives a huge feeling of pleasure.
That feeling is enhanced as soon as you open the door. The original leather was reused during the restoration. The leather on the seats has a beautiful patina and is still wonderfully supple. The carpets and dashboard are also in excellent condition, as are the instruments and controls. The counters are of course all from Smiths and fit perfectly with this British sports car.
The XK150 can rightly be called a sports car. The 3.4 liter six-in-line produces 180 hp and is more than sufficiently powerful even today. Furthermore, the car has disc brakes and a good chassis. The driving characteristics can therefore be called wonderful and you can actually use that power well. As the photos show, this is not a car for someone looking for a freshly restored one. This is a car for the driver, the person who sees a car as a platform to achieve goals and not as an end in itself. Are you planning to drive to your favorite European capital in style or pay a visit to Goodwood? Then this is the XK150 for you. If you're looking for an XK150 to put in a glass box and just view, then this may not be the perfect XK150 for you.
In short, this Jaguar is ready to take on many adventures and it is also a car where all the character and patina has not been "restored". Get in, give it a lot of gas and enjoy.
