2009 Jaguar XKR 5.0 V8 Supercharged remapped to 625HP (2009)

The Jaguar XK is the second and final generation of the Jaguar XK 2+2 grand tourer manufactured by Jaguar Cars under the X150 internal designation. The three-door hatchback coupé debuted at the 2005 Frankfurt Motor Show with the 4.2-litre V8 engine of its predecessor, and the two-door convertible debuted in 2006 at the North American International Auto Show. Its styling was by Ian Callum, with details evoking prominent earlier Jaguar models, e.g., the Sayer nose in the D-type and the grill located badge recalling the E-type.
The X150 is noted for its bonded and riveted aluminium monocoque and all-aluminium construction and it was 61.0 mm (2.4 in) wider and 162.6 mm (6.4 in) longer, but 91 kg (200 lb) lighter than its predecessor the X100 resulting in performance and fuel consumption improvements. The 4.2-litre V8 engine was carried over from its predecessor and was mated to a 6-speed automatic transmission manufactured by ZF Friedrichshafen. A notable feature was the steering column mounted shift paddles that allowed full manual control. A more powerful XKR version having a supercharged variant of the engine was introduced in 2007. A facelifted XK was launched in 2009 with a new 5.0-litre V8. The production of the XK ended in July 2014 without it being directly replaced.
Enough of background and history, every once in a while a car comes to us that has us checking our “piggy banks” to see if we can add the car to our “collection”. This is such a car….
It is a late, facelifted, 2009 (model year 2010) Jaguar XKR in stunning Indigo Blue with Ivory leather interior and awesome 20in light anthracite alloy wheels fitted with correct Dunlop Sportmaxx tyres. The paintwork is outstanding matched by the condition of the ivory leather interior that still emits that wonderful aroma of new leather. Being an XKR version the car is fitted with the awesome 5.0 litre supercharged V8 engine, more on that later.
Supplied new on 31 January 2009 by Stratstone Jaguar of Milton Keynes, the Jaguar has had 4 owners, the current owner acquiring the car in June 2015 with 44908 miles and he has completed about 12000 miles in the Jaguar, using it on many extended European tours when such things were possible, bringing the mileage to 66900 miles.
The condition and maintenance history of the car is testament to the care and dedication that has gone into maintaining the Jaguar by all its owners to date. Now for the interesting part, the engine, the 2009 facelifted 5.0 litre supercharged V8s came with the AJ-V8 Gen III R engine rated at 503HP, the high performance XKR-S version of the engine producing 542HP was not available until 2011, BUT our car was Dynamometer tested by DMS Automotive in Southampton in April 19 at 560HP before they re-mapped the engine to 625HP. YES 625HP!!! DMS have over 23 years experience “unleashing automotive performance” from their £1M facility in Southampton.
These cars have pretty much reached the bottom of their depreciation cycle and values will start to rise, they are incredibly reliable with carefully maintained engines capable of completing huge mileages, an aluminium body and no known major issues, superb grand touring cars like these with wonderfully powerful engines will not be made again.
Given the condition, provenance, history and 625 HP upgraded engine along with the stunning colour combination and wonderful sound of this car; it represents a stunning buy and amazing value for money. Really, try finding something comparable and this good for this sort of money.
A fresh MOT has been done and a Jaguar Main Dealer Service to keep the service record perfect and up to date.
