Saturday 7 October will see yet another running of the popular Berkshire-based Thatcham Classic car show, as organised by C&SC’s art editor, Martin Port.
Once again, this will be an opportunity to come and say hello to various members of the C&SC team: Simon Taylor, Greg MacLeman and David Evans will be present with their classics, and Port’s 1959 ‘trans-Africa’ Series II Land-Rover will be first on the field.
The show is free to enter, although there is a suggested donation of £5 per car upon entering the field and 100% of all money collected will once again go to a good cause – this year, the Rosemary Appeal who are raising money to build a new cancer care centre in the area. Last year, we raised in excess of £1000 for Macmillan and had over 300 classics attend.
You could also have a chance to win one of our two coveted awards: Best in Show or Spirit of Show, as chosen and awarded by the C&SC team of judges.
There is no need to book – simply turn up on the day, and all classics or vehicles with enthusiast appeal are welcome, whatever their age. There are toilets and refreshments available on site, with the town centre just a short walk away if you require something more substantial!
