The June issue of Classic & Sports Car goes on sale in the UK today (3 May) – and this month change is afoot.
We've spruced up the magazine for the summer, giving it a fresh new look and more pages, and introducing several new features and columns. There's also a 19-page guide to the forthcoming Classic & Sports Car Show in Association with Flywheel – unmissable if you're planning to come, and sure to convince you if you're (currently) undecided.
Of course not everything about the magazine has changed: you’ll still find C&SC’s usual winning mix of news, events info, opinion, features, buying tips and classifieds.
Scroll down for a peek inside, and don’t forget to subscribe for the best possible deal.
1. A classic car show with a difference
Moscow's Oldtimer-Gallery show is notable for its vast size and impressive array of classic and vintage vehicles. And this year, it was particularly notable for its spectacular collection of bright red fire tenders.
2. The big feature: 50 bargain greats
Worried that to buy a genuine classic you'll need to sell your house, clothes and loved ones? Well don't fret: there are still plenty of great choices out there for less than you'd think. To prove it, we've compiled a list of 50 classics available – in good nick – for less than £15,000. You'll be amazed at some of the bargains on offer.
3. Alfa Romeo 1900C Super Sprint
Richard Heseltine takes a beautiful Touring-bodied Super Sprint for an eye-opening trip through Portugal's picturesque Serra do Caramulo region, home to "God's own driving roads".
4. Aston Martin DB3
In the early '50s, Aston Martin decided to take on the big boys on the track – and the car it built to do that was the DB3. Success followed at the inaugural Goodwood Nine Hours – although not without drama along the way. Mick Walsh is the lucky man who gets to drive one today.
5. Lotus Esprit V8 GT vs TVR Cerbera 4.2
The Lotus Esprit and TVR Cerbera are both British-built, V8-engined sports cars, produced from the mid-'90s to the mid-'00s. They'll even each set you back about the same amount of cash. But, finds Ross Alkureishi, when you're behind the wheel they couldn't be more different.
6. Life magazine's automotive archive
From 1936 to the turn of the millennium, Life magazine trained its many lenses on the rich and famous. We delve inside its archive for some photographic gems.
7. Full Classic & Sports Car Show preview
