BENTLEY 4½-LITRE (1927-31)

Tourer, fabric saloon, numerous specials.

Magnificent Vintage-traditional machine with 16-valve fixed-head engine, bevel-drive ohc, twin magnetos, eight plugs, and four-speed 'box with right-hand change. Standard engines gave 105-110bhp on a 4.8 cr, but the five-bearing unit will stand unlimited tuning. Anything made after '28 will have plate rather than cone clutch and the last ones had the heavy, Blower-type crankshaft. Only nine genuine short chassis built, so watch out for latter-day butchery.
