BMW
BMW 3-SERIES (four cylinder)

2-door 4/5-seater saloon.

Work it out for yourselves - an all-new steel two-door shell (no four-doors until re-styled version came in 1983), built at Munich, with typical BMW-style suspension but rack and pinion steering and choice of existing overhead cam engines. Direct replacement for 1602/2002 cars, on 100.9ins (compared with 98.4ins) wheelbase. 316/318 with two headlamps, 320/320i (109/125bhp) with four lamps. These last 2-litre 'fours' only lasted two years, to be replaced by new M60 'small' six. Baur coachbuilt convertibles also built, not sold in UK.
