CHEVROLET MONZA

2-door 5-seater coupé/hatchback.

Stylish fastback coupé Monza had style cribbed from Ferrari 330GTC on unit-construction underpan, with suspension and (at first) aluminium engine of Chevrolet Vega compact. Conventional 'chassis', with coil spring ifs, coil spring and beam rear, plus front disc brakes, all in 97ins wheelbase. Later versions had Chevy small-block V8 and - by the end of six year run - the latest V6 as well. Town Coupé was effectively a fixed hardtop on a convertible-type shell, though true convertibles were never offered. Sold in Britain 1976-78 only.
