Clever product planning on lightly-modified 128 underpan front end and running gear, it really replaced the 850 sport coupé. Original sport coupé with cow-hipped two-door style replaced in 1975 by more severe wing-line style, and hatchback (3P = tre porte = three doors). Like 128, transverse engine, overhead cam layout, and end-on gearbox. Good, if not exhilarating handling and performance, with 100mph top speed (just) from 1300 version. 1116cc not available here after 1973.
