FORD CAPRI RS2600

2-door 2+2 seater sports coupé.

German-built and very rare here, this was the first hot-rod Capri. Really another Ford 'homologation special', raced with enormous success, eventually at 2.9-litres. 150bhp in '70 was nearly equal to rorty 2.8i of early eighties, but with Kugelfischer injection on this model. First 50 were very lightweight, intended only for racing - later became more plush. All with four headlamps, quarter bumpers, and most with cast alloy wheels and ventilated discs. 120mph, no problem.
