Cortina/Zephyr hybrid, nevertheless selling well for some years. Based on lengthened Cortina underpan, with own sharp-nosed superstructure and 60-degree V4 engines as used in Capris, Zephyrs and Transits. Estate car and automatic transmission options, front discs too, plush 2000E (E = Executive) with 93bhp, later applied to 2000 as well, gave near-100mph top speed. In practical terms, 2-litre cars were always under-rated - squeezed between Cortina GTs and big Zodiacs - and never fashionable. Virtually ignored today.
