HILLMAN AVENGER

2-door/4-door 4-seater saloon/estate.

A rarity for the seventies - a completely new design from end to end, the Chrysler-financd Rootes company's answer to the Marina/Escort/Viva market. Boring style and engineering, with MacPherson front and coil spring/beam axle rear. Most were four-door saloons or estates, but two-door phased in from early '73. 1250/1500 engines replaced by 1300/1600 versions for '74 model year on. Rebadged as Chryslers for '77 model year, and Talbots for '80!
