Hillman

Hillman
HILLMAN MINX/HUNTER

4-door 5-seater saloon/estate.

Rootes 'grey porridge' at its best - very staid, very worthy, very boring, and proud of it. MacPherson strut front end and disc brakes, in smooth but undistinguished style also shared with Singer Gazelle/Vogue. 90mph from 1.7-litre version. A lighter, better car than earlier generation models it replaced. Not improved in seventies because of lack of finance. Hunter 'kits' sold in large quantities to Iran as 'Peykan' models to mid-1980s. From 1977, rebadged as Chryslers for two years.
