De Tomaso took over Maserati after Citroën bankruptcy of 1975. Kyalami was first 'de Tomaso Maserati', effectively re-engined Longchamps. Choice of 255/320bhp engines, and top speed of up to 150mph. Like Longchamps, had unit-construction shell, rather square style, and all-independent suspension.
