MATRA-SIMCA BAGHEERA

2-door 3-seater fastback coupé.

Brave design by French aerospace company, with glass-fibre body and mid-mounted engine/transmission (ex front-drive Simca 1100). Unique for having three-abreast seating. Most built in left-hand drive, but some cars sold in UK. All-independent suspension, all disc brakes. 1.3-litre/84bhp at first, 1.45-litre/90bhp from mid-1975 optional. AS with other cars marketed by Simca, renamed 'Talbot' from mid-1979, then replaced by Murena in 1980.
