Matra-Simca
MATRA-SIMCA RANCHO

3-door 5-seater estate car.

Aptly described as a 'poseur's Range Rover', Rancho hid very workaday front-drive SImca 1100/Alpine type mechanics under glass-fibre cross-country vehicle/off road estate car styling.  Not designed for cross-country therefore four-wheel drive not available. Even so, spacious, trendy, useful with up to 80bhp and 90mph top speeds. Like other Simca-sold cars, renamed Talbot for 1982, sold until 1984. 'Glitzy' but not very versatile, better in the King's Road than the point-to-point car park.
