Relatively rare, expensive, and always stuffed with 'extras' in UK, all with automatic, power steering, electric windows and typical West German plush trim, but still with swing-axle rear end and soft ride. 125mph all out in great comfort and reliability. Long-wheelbase version (280SEL 3.5) made in very limited quantities but not sold in UK. Very attractive, and looks from a far more modern age than its curvaceous predecessor.
