MG VA

Open 4-seater, saloon, drophead coupé.

Another Wolseley based engine, this time the pushrod ohv unit was ex-Wolseley 12, and as originally marketed the 11/2-litre had a 108ins wheelbase frame similar to the SA - ie hefty. Jackall jacks were built in, there was a bumper stabiliser fitted to damp torsional flexing at the front end, Lockheed 10ins hydraulic brakes were used, and the model could better 80mph, all for £280 for the Charlesworth tourer. Saloon closely resembles contemporary 11/2-litre Jaguars.
