Squared-off nose is controversial, but does at least allow more under-bonnet room; 110 engine from '75 (except autos). Saloon dropped when Metro arrives in 1980; estate reverts to 998cc engine and renamed Mini 100HL - continues until 1982. Dry-cone suspension always on estate, and on saloon from July '71.
