MORRIS 1100/1300

2-door 4-seater saloon/estate, 4-door 4-seater saloon.

Pininfarina-styled, Issigonis-designed, Hydrolastic-suspension front-drive car. Really a grown-up and more civilised re-statement of Mini theme. All had become 'Mk II', with minor re-styling, in 1967. All-synchro gearbox from 1968. Some had AP automatic transmission. No saloons after 1971 (though 'Austin' equivalents continued) in UK. Effectively replaced by Austin Allegro in 1973, itself not as nice a car. No 'classic' status for these, though 1300GT version was better.
