NSU

NSU
NSU PRINZ/SUPER PRINZ

2-door 4-seater saloon.

Strange little car which sold well in Germany but in tiny numbers here. Rear-mounted air-cooled engine denoted NSU's motorbike origins, but style was admittedly a tiny Chevrolet Corvair copy. Even so, toy-like engine produced 30bhp, and gearbox had all-synchromesh, while handling was surprisingly stable. Gave rise to several big-brother developments.
