Built on same floor pan, suspensions and running gear as first Asconas, but launch preceded it by weeks. Choice of cam-in-head engines, with up to 90bhp at first, and 105bhp (with injection) for last two seasons. All coil suspension (rigid axle rear) with front disc brakes and optional automatic transmission. Pleasant and civilised, if not a sensational performer - up to 116mph with GT/E injection engine. No 1.2-litre models in Britain.
